Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Ahead of PM Modi's scheduled visit to West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has raised two pointed queries, seeking clarity on critical issues concerning the state's welfare. The TMC also launched a social media campaign with a hashtag- AayeHoTohBataKeJao (When you have come, please reply)- in an apparent reference to the alleged withholding of funds under various schemes by the Centre and other issues.
The TMC, led by Mamata Banerjee, has directly addressed Prime Minister Modi with pressing questions. The first inquiry pertains to the plight of MGNREGA beneficiaries. In a video message, the TMC questioned, "Honourable PM, when will you listen to the 'Man Ki Baat' of our deprived MGNREGA beneficiaries? Despite your government stopping funds, the Mamata Banerjee-led government will clear dues of all deprived MGNREGA beneficiaries in the state by today."
Additionally, the party also questioned LoP, Suvendu Adhikari's involvement in multiple CBI cases. State Minister Shashi Panja questioned, "Will you suspend Suvendu Adhikari, named in CBI allegations, from your party or share the stage with him to prove your ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ to shelter corrupt people?"
